AS a prelude to the 2017 release of TRON-3 (the movie) We planned for the CarbageRun 2017 and our team has chosen the TRON thema. (Project info in this blog: www.midlivecrisis.blogspot.nl ) Thus, the need arises to have Identity Discs on our costumes. Beware: this is work-in-progress until I am convinced the assembly can be completed without to much sanding or drilling. I was inspired by the project of Metaform3d (thing:1032216) However, I have the need for other dimensions and no-support, so I redesigned it from scratch. This version has built-in break-away support for the 9V battery, as well as space for my own switches. Also the lenses for the led rings are different. Mind: there are 2 different shapes of the quarterdisc, because of the c-shape led ring. Also, th eC-ring lense can be printed in one piece, or in quarters. The inner structure is in quarters, but I have provided all of them in one build file, which fits my Orca So print 4 of each shape and take care when glueing :-) The lenses need to be printed in transparent... You can either choose to print them in one, or in 4 segments each. The one is nicer, no gaps! You can glue one side and screw the other for battery replacement, or only glue or only screw as desired. Glue the 4 support structures to each other and glue or screw it to one side of the disc. Add led strips, side burning in the c-ring and normal around the circumference Wire the connections you would like to the led strips and switches Glue the lenses on top of the led strips Plug/Glue in dummy's or magnets where no switches are placed Screw the 2nd half on the other side of the support structure Have fun !
