It was also used as an instrument for clearing land for crops or gardening banana groves. Blades have one or multiple holes with copper pins that marked the owner's social rank. Typically, trombash had no scabbard; they were worn in the hands or kept close to the owner. The steel double-edged blade has large curvature and a convex spine that expands into the tang. In the lower part of the blade between the blade spine and the concave side is a circular hole. Each side of the blade ends with a rectangular ledge.
