Trollhunter Sword Prop

Update: I've attached the Sketchup Files for the sword and the Amulet, please feel free to do whatever you'd like with these. They worked for the costume I had made for my Nephew, hopefully they are of use to you too. This is a kid sized "prop" Trollhunters Sword in three sections to print on 210x210 print beds. My 5 year old nephew wanted to be Trollhunter for Halloween and I had no idea what he was talking about but after looking at some photos and the basic foam suggestions out there I figured I could make him something a bit better. Its far from perfect and was a one off, so I apologize for any inaccuracies, I'm not a cosplayer. Using the Trollhunter Sword by Jockelill as a basic outline I scaled it WAY up, cut it in half and then added the sword details. This is built with an interior void to accommodate 5 blue LEDs inside per side along with a 2 x AA battery pack, as seen in the terrible photos on my messy workbench (sorry). I just cut a section of thin white plastic which I placed inside over the openings to make the lighting more diffuse, you could likely print something to form. I may have gotten carried away with the number of LEDs as its kind of blinding. Basically I printed this in ABS, printing two of each sword section and then using acetone and an old soldering iron to bond the three sections of each side together on the inside face. I used the acetone to do an initial bonding of the sections together and used the old soldering iron to pull material together from section to section to make a stronger bond. Someone with more skills than me can likely come up with a better mechanical method to attach everything together. If you're interested just let me know and I can send you the sketchup file. I drilled small holes from one side into the other and counter sunk them to fit self tapping plastic screws which hold the two halves together. I also made an amulet which you can put LEDs in which is included in the files.
