Troke - Castle Chess Game
pinshape
This revamped version of the 1956 game Troke brings detailed models to life, swapping out the original's simple cylinders for intricate designs. A 3D printed board with designated spaces for the pieces takes center stage. This beloved classic is back by popular demand! The power of 3D printing proves once again that scarcity is a thing of the past. From Board Game Geek: http://boardgamegeek.com/board... Troke's subtitle reads, "Castle Checkers." This abstract strategy game pits players against each other as they move three distinct types of pieces – towers, walls, and moats – across the board diagonally forward, straight ahead or sideways, but never backwards. The goal is to be the first player to get all their pieces to the opposite side. A key feature of the game is the ability to merge with one or two different pieces, allowing for an extra move. Players can also capture opponent's pieces and move them away from their own goal, towards theirs. As the game unfolds, making moves becomes increasingly complicated due to the need for additional moves after capturing pieces. If these extra moves cannot be made, the original capture move is rendered impossible. To bring Troke to life, a medium to large format 3D printer is required to print the board. The pieces and home parts should be printed in four different colors, with the board center printed in a neutral color. For those with smaller 3D printers, paper versions of the board are available in color or black-and-white.
