Trojan Horse

Trojan Horse

The Trojan Horse model is a fun and decorative print that features a large open internal storage compartment accessed through a hatch on the underside, perfect for concealing small items like money, jewelry, keys, and more. Great to use yourself or as a unique gift. They look great in any color. The tail/hatch print comes in two parts (although an STL file including both parts in one print is also provided). The horse part is a print-in-place design that will produce a model with free rotating wheels when sliced accurately with a good slicing app and machine. Note: As not all slicing apps/machines produce the same result, the standard tail hatch may print slightly loose for some users. If you are confident in your slicing app and machine's precision, you can use the tail_notch STL file instead. The only difference is a small hump halfway along the sliding part, which will make it slightly tighter to insert/harder to remove. This may cause issues if the model becomes too tight for some users... if that happens, you can file down the notch a fraction. At standard scale, the Trojan Horse (with the tail/hatch installed) measures 136mm x 105mm x 32.5mm. Large areas inside the Trojan Horse have been left empty to reduce print time and filament usage. The hatch measures approximately 24mm x 14mm, while the internal cavity is 68mm x 25mm x 25mm... plenty of space to hide away lost small/precious things. This is an easy print, but DO NOT USE SUPPORT as it could result in the wheels not turning freely and the internal storage area being filled. Machines with good bridging capability should produce good results. Please refer to the instructions provided and images for additional information. Note: If you like this, check out the rest of my fun and practical designs... and please post images of your prints! Printer Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.20mm / Standard Infill: 2 Shells / 20% infill recommended Notes: Recommend using Raft for ease of removal from the build plate. DO NOT USE SUPPORT as that may result in the internal storage area being filled and the wheels not turning. Post-Printing: Just hide things inside! Once the Raft is removed, install the tail/hatch slider and your Trojan Horse is ready to display and 'secretly' store things away.
