Trivet

Trivet

thingiverse

This is a basic grid-based trivet. A trivet acts as a mat, used to isolate an object from the surface it's resting on. Typically, this is necessary because the object is hot - like a pot fresh off the stove. However, in this scenario, this practice is not advisable. I designed this for my fridge's veggie bin. The bin always had a layer of grime at the bottom, which I attributed to moisture from vegetables leaking out and accumulating there. The vege bin has ribs on the bottom, but they're too far apart. The Trivet sits atop these ribs, providing some drainage space underneath it. Its dimensions are designed for a snug fit within my printer, yet spacious enough for three of them to cover the base of the veggie bin. I strongly advise against using this beneath hot items like pots or baking sheets. If you do choose to use it in such a manner, you're doing so at your own risk.
