Triumph Spitfire wheel, lug-nut split-ring
thingiverse
I'd be shocked if anyone prints this for what it's intended. Still, it is an exact replica and functions flawlessly. So if you need it or can use it for something else, here it is. The ring measures 3mm in thickness. It features a 2mm cut. Its diameter comes in at 25mm, with an inner diameter of 15mm. This split ring is specifically designed to retain the centre hub cap from a 1975 Triumph Spitfire. I'd guess several British sports cars from that era would make use of this. I printed it out in PLA, which seems very close to the flexibility of the original plastic clip. So far, I've only put 15km on it, but I'll update you as time goes on. My print settings were a temperature of 195, speed of 100, and I used Black PLA from Digimaker with a 106% feed rate. I also added a brim to the print. Given its small size, it's extremely easy to print. Chances are, it won't even need a brim. For aesthetic purposes only, I'd recommend sanding it down. Since I plan on buying new wheels anyway, I didn't bother with that.
