Tripodium for classical guitar
thingiverse
Play classical guitar with extra projection. Alternate between a sitting and standing position when playing for an extended period of time. Help avoid malpostures and back pain.Historically, such stands, known as tridpodia, were used by guitarists such as Dionisio Aguado y García.The GUITAR STAND TOP FRAME offered here is to be placed on a stable camera tripod with a Manfrotto fluid video head. The bottom of the top frame is shaped like a 501PL Plate and the frame can be connected to tripod/video head combinations which accept the 501PL. It is strongly recommended to contact a good photo and video retailer about suitable tripod combinations before printing the model and to take the additional cost of the tripod into account. The tripod combination should be able to hold a mid-sized professional video camera. I use a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with a Manfrotto 701HDV head, which at the time cost £200 together. Newer, equivalent models are available. The top frame connects to the guitar with Ergoplay suction cups (Tappert/Tröster models). Ergoplay guitar rests have been around for a long time and are well-tested. Placing a non-adhesive film on the guitar may be advisable for protection and better suction for matt, open-pored, lacquered, and delicate guitars. The construction allows the adaption of the guitar's angle (roll and yaw through the tripod head, pitch through the top frame). A shifting mechanism ensures that the centre of gravity of the guitar can be placed centrally over the tripod head for different angles for maximum stability. The frame should fit an extensive range of mainstream full-size classical guitars. However, printing out the PDF file (see files section) and holding it against the guitar is strongly recommended to verify that the tripodium and guitar profiles are compatible.Requires standard M-type screws, rubber bands and 7 Ergoplay suction cups for assembly.
