Tripod Replacement Head

Tripod Replacement Head

A buddy of mine discovered a tripod all busted up on the side of the road. The plastic components were all there but had been ruined. I stuck them back together and created replacements using glue. I had to swipe some metal parts, so this isn't a completely 3D printed solution. It should be either a good starting point or maybe one could even find some of the metal pieces required at a hardware store. If you have access to a lathe then you're pretty much set with some turning and a little bit of threading. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker Original Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: At least 30%, MORE IS BETTER Notes: You need to print and glue the two pieces together for the bottom. This is the weak link of the whole design, if you drop it, it will break here. Maybe adding a bolt wouldn't be a bad idea, but it would need to not interfere with the shaft. If you made this one piece I think you would lose the 'grain' orientation for the X or the Y axis, both of which are required for this print to rotate correctly. Such is 3D printing.
