This is a quick release system designed specifically for small and affordable tripods that lack this feature. The device is also compatible with the MeFoto Backpacker and Roadtrip tripods' quick release plates. To view detailed images of this product, please click on the full-screen button. This tiny yet innovative gadget uses an eccentric cam - which is actually a logarithmic spiral - to firmly secure the mounting plate in place. I plan to use it to switch between my big tripod and my Gorillapod cameras interchangeably. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: LulzBot * Printer Model: TAZ 4 * Rafts: None * Supports: None * Resolution: 0.20 mm layers * Infill: 33 - 50% Notes: There is considerable force transmitted through the cam and bolt, so high infill on these parts may be necessary. My initial version used a 25% infill rate, which resulted in the lock nut turning within the nut trap. The panhead allows for precise preload of the cam tension, and I recommend it to be tightened as much as needed while keeping it as loose as possible. Friction will keep everything secure during use. Post-Printing: * You'll need a 1/8 - inch drill bit * Bore out the holes in the cam and QR body with an 1/8 - inch drill bit, preferably slowly by hand Design Process: Designed in the Schlaboratory using Tinkercad and OpenSCAD for the logarithmic spiral render.
