Tripod phone holder
thingiverse
I needed a phone mount for tripods to start shooting videos, so I designed this. OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED: -2 M8 nuts (similar to these https://tinyurl.com/rraxl5k) -M8 threaded rod (about 20 cm, similar to this https://tinyurl.com/quak8pn) -2 thumb nuts (similar to these https://tinyurl.com/ujtcunv) Note: I used similar components because I bought them locally, but you should verify their quality. ASSEMBLY: -.After printing all the parts and cleaning them up, glue the Bottom_threaded part to the Lower_body part using super glue. It will be plenty strong. -While waiting for the glue to dry, cut two identical pieces of rod (about 10 cm worked for me, but you can adjust it if your phone is wider). -Press fit the two nuts into the Lower_body part and screw in the previously cut pieces of rod. Slide in the Left_spacer and Right_spacer with some glue on their bases to fix them to the Lower_body(maybe you will have to screw them in because they're a bit tight, but this will prevent them from unscrewing). -Now you can slide in the Upper_body and add the thumb nuts. SIDENOTES: -The thread needed to mount the support to the tripod will be 3D printed, it's a standard 1/4 UNC thread (maybe you will need to force it slightly the first time you screw it in but it'll eventually get just fine); -I've added a small chamfer to the top side of the rods and flattened the bottom one using a metal file (this is optional but it'll make the mount look nicer). I hope you guys like this design, it's also my first uploaded. Have fun and feel free to ask questions if you have them.
