Tripod Phone Holder
thingiverse
This is a versatile phone holder for devices featuring displays measuring approximately 5 inches. The base section is specifically designed to accommodate a nut, which can be secured using a standard screw thread found on most tripods (a 1/4-20 inch thread). Initially, finding the right nut locally proved challenging; therefore, I opted to create one myself using a 3D printer. To my surprise, it functioned effectively, and I have included its STL file within this design. The holder was printed utilizing PLA material, but any rigid material could be used as an alternative. Post-printing steps are crucial for optimal performance: Mount a spring: Drill a 1mm hole in both the top and bottom components to facilitate mounting an expansion spring that will help keep the phone securely attached to the holder. A 3.5mm long spring is recommended, which can typically be found at local hardware stores. Assembly involves gluing the components together: Glue the top and bottom components: Securely attach the top and bottom components on one side of the body by applying a suitable adhesive. Finally, glue the other side of the body while ensuring the top component slides smoothly.
