Tripod Mount for 1.5
thingiverse
I built this attachment specifically for my own Structured Light 3D scanning rig, and I've found that using David 3D scanning software really simplifies the process. One trick is to utilize existing holes in your print as a guide for drilling mounting holes in the rail; the precise locations will save you time in assembly. Next, I tap those 5.1 mm holes with a 1/4-20 thread - and it's crucial that you allow at least three perimeter shells to develop around the area where the tapping takes place, ensuring the tap threads properly. Finally, just be sure to enlarge the existing holes in your rail so they're clear for 1/4-20 threaded rods to pass through freely.
