Tripod & Mount DSLR/Camcorder
thingiverse
A compact and sturdy tripod designed to hold a DSLR camera or camcorder in place on uneven terrain such as soil or ground. The various holes throughout the tripod and mount allow for customizable rigging options, ensuring secure placement of the equipment. Weighing capacity is approximately 3-5 pounds, although it was successfully tested with an additional 30 pounds without collapsing. The hardware consists entirely of low-strength bolts and screws that can be easily sourced from a local hardware store. The parts list includes: 1 x 1/4-20 x 3" hex head cap screw 3 x 1/4-20 x 1" pan head screws (Note: the photo shows an alternative use of a 1 1/8" screw) 1 x 1/4-20 x 5/8" hex head cap screw 1 x 1/4-20 x 1 3/4" hex head cap screw 5 x 1/4-20 nuts (optional: three thin nylocks can be used for the tripod legs) If you prefer to build the tripod without the printed mount, a 1/4-20 x 1 1/2" cap screw can be used instead of the 1 3/4" cap screw, allowing the screw to protrude by 1/4". To contribute to this project's success, please post your version and share it with others. If you find this design useful, consider tipping a dollar. Edit (04-15-2017): The knutlock has been replaced with v5, enabling easier passage of the screw through the mount. Print Settings: Printer: CTC Duplicator 4 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 20 + Notes: This design requires three shells or a wall thickness of 1.2 mm, with an additional 1.25mm on top and base. PLA was used for testing; ABS would provide even greater robustness.
