Tripod head with longer knob handle and straight header_1
thingiverse
I made a slight addition to Rukey's tripod head. The straight header_1 part's STL file wasn't included in the download but was visible in the SCAD file, so I rendered and exported it. The actual part from the download is located under the tripod on the table in the picture. It caused a handle/knob conflict, so I replaced it. Next, I extended the long knob/handle with a simple cylinder to allow for lower movement before being stopped by the header_1 piece. The part remains held in place as before but now requires an 80 mm screw. In my case, I insert the screw starting just under the camera shelf. The nut is located at the thin end of the knob/handle, and the screw tightly inserted into the hole of the thin part holds it in place. The nut at the thin end of the knob creates pressure to tighten and block axis motion. A second photo was taken to help describe this. The other two handles have screws going into the handle first, whereas my screws feature a hexagonal head. I heated them up and pushed them hard into the handle so they would create an imprint/seat to prevent slipping when turning the handle. Lastly, I printed this in PLA, but it caused mobile parts to stick together, so I applied grease at all rotation/slip points.
