I'm building a tripod for my two 10W LED lamps using old aluminum ski poles and 20mm diameter aluminum pipe. The poles have a diameter of 16mm. I connect the elements with M5 screws. My lamps are attached to an aluminum profile, which I used in the construction of my light pad - you can check it out at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4062120. The profile measures 28x18mm. At the bottom of my tripod is a 12V power supply socket, and the electric wires run through the 20mm pipe.
