This project will guide you through the step-by-step to create a Tripod Floor Lamp.It has a lot of steps, but they are not that difficult.List of printed parts:3 feet, 1 for each leg1 core to mount the legs angled1 lamp socket mount1 bumper to protect the vertical rod (print this in some sort of flexible filament like TPU/TPE, if you don't have this kind of filament, I bet you can use any kind of bumper)List of non-printed parts:Here you find the list of materials to buy if you don't have them. However you might substitute some of the items if you wish. Read carefully3 hardwood board. 1/2 in. x 2 in. x 4 ft. I don't know much about wood and I chose poplar, you can pick any kind of wood you prefer.1 hardwood dowel. 1/2 in. x 48 in.1 large shade. Large: 17" diameter, 11" high.3 big thumb screws. 1/4 in.-20 x 1 in.3 big nuts for the thumb screws above. 1/4 in.1 small thumb screw. #10-32 x 1/2 in.1 small nut for the small thumb screw above.1 lamp cord1 bulb socket1 lamp harpOPTIONAL:You can paint/stain the wood to achieve the appearance you desire.I decided to use Danish oilAlso sprayed the thumb screws and nuts with rust oleumAssembling instructions: Use the "core" to mark on the wood board the place to drill Using 1/4in drill bit, drill the holes (1 hole for each leg) Paint/stain the parts you want, if you desire to do so Place the nuts on the "core" Put the feet in place Place the legs on the core and secure them using the larger thumb screw Screw the small thumb screw on the small nut Glue the bumper on the tip of the small thumb screw Slide the small thumb screw on it's place, fitting the nut on it's place and use a drop of glue to hold, permanently, the nut in place.Be careful, you don't want to glue the nut and thumb screw together. Assemble the socket, cord and the lamp harp. Put the socket inside the "socket mount". Insert the dowel on the "socket mount" Place the dowel on it's position and secure it tightening the small thumb screw. Place the light bulb on the socket Put the shade Turn it on and enjoy it!!17)If you make one hit "Post a Make"If you like this, check my Wall Lamp.=====If you'd like to support me you can post a make, comment and/or pay me a coffee at PayPalPrint SettingsPrinter Brand:TEVOPrinter:TarantulaRafts:Doesn't MatterSupports:YesResolution:0.1Infill:50% or moreFilament: Hatchbox PLAWoodNotes:Ok, for the printing part I have a couple of tips:The bumper, printed with flexible filament, it is pretty straight forward... Just print it :)Feet and light bulb socket mount are easy. Just make sure to use enough infill and perimeter to make them as strong as possible, especially the light bulb socket mount. The core... The most important part! I made 2 versions. V1 is open and you can see the side of the legs, in my opinion V1 is more elegant, but it a little fragile... V2 is an hexagon completely closed, and because of that, V2 is stronger than V1. Whichever you choose, I recommend you to print it horizontally... The same way the file is oriented, just open it on your preferred slicer and you'll see what I'm talking about. Doing that, the core will be more resistant to the forces applied on it as you assemble and handle the lamp. However be really careful if you choose the V1, I had problems trying to remove the supports and assembling it without braking it. Besides that, I printed it using PLA (which is not the strongest material available), feel free to use something more sturdy than PLA (PLA reinforced, ABS, PETG...). If you choose V1 and want to stay on the safe side, buy longer thumb screws for the legs. Tell me the length and I will upload a thicker and probably more resistant version.FINALLY: If you have any question or suggestions, feel free to get in touch. I'll do my best to clarify any unclear information and to adjust this project for your needs, uploading new versions.Category: Decor
