Tripod coupler for iPod touch
thingiverse
Attach an iPod touch 4G to standard tripod legs of 23mm and 16mm, enabling a convenient mechanism for running iOS apps and controlling WiFi-compatible devices through WiFi. This setup is similar to one created for a Lumia 920, although ad-hoc WiFi capability is currently unavailable for that platform; an old iPhone has been used as a substitute. Utilizing an unused iPod touch, it can now serve as a remote control for your camera and fit within the holder with room for the power charger connection. Rhino3D and STEP files are available for design customization, along with the added benefit of an iPod touch 4G solid model for other projects. The touch's apps/WiFi capabilities make it a useful platform for tasks like this, even though modern phones have rendered them obsolete. Print at your desired resolution; no support or raft is needed. The base flange in the STL is offset from the model and controls airflow over the HBP to prevent liftoff during printing. Upon lifting off the print, the flange simply detaches, leaving a clean and flat-bottomed item.
