Tripod Camera Ring Light
thingiverse
I wanted a ring light for better facial lighting, so I decided to make my own using my 3D printer instead of buying one. Here's what I came up with: Parts List: - 12v LED strip - http://a.co/fbHSTA4 - 9v battery with connector - Switch - http://a.co/9NoQxi3 - Number 8 screw with two nuts - Soldering equipment - Heat shrink tubing or electrical tape - Super glue - 3D printed parts - https://cad.onshape.com/documents/b16b4bc1f1998f6d4070489c/w/dd39a70f7483493c4cf53a4d/e/e1741fed1e90d5fb6f279f53 - Base - Lid - Ring - Knob - Lens - Clear Steps: 1. Feed the wires from the LEDs through the hole in the back of the ring. 2. Peel off the backing on the LEDs and stick them to the ring. 3. Pinch and bend the lights at every corner. 4. Snap the lens onto the ring. 5. Thread one nut all the way to the head of the screw and super glue it there. 6. Fit the screw into the knob so the nut locks into the hex-shaped end. 7. Slide the other nut into the slot in the base. 8. Thread the screw through the nut in the base. 9. Slide the ring into the slot in the base. 10. Feed wires through the hole in the side of the base. 11. Splice the black wire from the LEDs to the black wire from the battery connector. 12. Pop the switch into the base. 13. Solder the red wire from the LEDs to one pole of the switch. 14. Solder the red wire from the battery connector to the other pole of the switch. 15. Connect the battery and test the light. 16. Slide the lid onto the base. 17. Now take some awesome, evenly lit up-close video!
