tripod adapter for note 9 spigen tough armor

Lost my smartphone tripod adapter, so I had to create a new one when I needed it again. I recently read about compliant mechanisms, which allow you to use fewer parts by utilizing the properties of materials to make things work. For the clamp material, I suggest using a flexible material like Pet-G. ABS might also work but requires testing for shrinkage. PLA would initially work, but over time it won't bounce back as well as Pet-G or ABS and may stretch too far, causing your phone to drop. I printed the clamp with 2 perimeters and 20% infill, laying it flat with support everywhere - on the back and under the clamps. I also added support for the socket plate, requiring a drop-in 1/4" coarse thread nut. For mine, I set a filament change at 6mm and dropped the nut in when the head moved out of the way, starting it up again and sealing it in with the washer portion retaining the nut. If you want to modify this design for your phone, make sure the outside clamp dimension equals the width of your smartphone and maintain the thickness of the clamps so they don't snap with your phone inside.
