Tripod 3-axis tilt head
thingiverse
Replace my broken tripod mounting, as fixing it several times has been futile now that it's shattered beyond repair. The fully assembled device allows for three degrees of rotation, enabling you to set your camera at desired angles. Design requires no glue or fasteners, except a metal nut for the tripod legs and a metal bolt (cut to length) for the camera. Solidworks 2010 files are provided in the instructions. Print one copy each of Base, Cam Mount Base, Cam Mount Base Top, Cam Mount Lock, Mounting Plate, Thumbwheel, Pan Mount A, Pan Mount B, and three copies each of Toggle Lever A, Toggle Lever B, Toggle Pin. Alternatively, print one copy each of Pan Mount Plate, Cam Mount Plate, and two copies of Elevation Mount Plate, totaling 21 pieces. Keep track of parts using the exploded view; ensure smooth edges but not overly polished for a proper locking fit. Insert a hex nut into the base's hole, filing two sides if necessary. Place a 1/4" bolt with 1/16" pitch thread into the thumbwheel, ensuring a total length of 20mm with the last 5-6mm threaded. Assemble all components, considering gluing the top platform for extra stability. Note that "Mounting Plate" may require support during printing.
