My daughter Sophie and I visited the 2019 MakerFaire in New York City together. The Great Fredini captured her on a Saturday and she couldn't wait for another photo opportunity the following day. Carrying an umbrella, she thought, why not get it in the picture? Fredini suggested shooting with it open and closed to see which would look best. Now, we have three amazing scans that I merged into one model. Sophie loved the results and chose the title for this 3D printed item. At first, I considered creating an old-fashioned barometer featuring spinning suns and rainclouds – a project for another day maybe. Although nobody may care about the model itself, it's definitely worth looking at just to see how well The Great Fredini and Coney Island Scan-A-Rama did on this particular project. I highly recommend their work if you ever get the chance. The finished 3D print measures 150mm in height. I produced it with a Makerbot Replicator 2 on high settings (0.1 15% 2 shells with support) using ColorFabb BronzeFill material. Burnishing still needs to be done though...
