My daughter Sophie and I hit the MakerFaire in New York this year, and we made some unforgettable memories. The Great Fredini gave her a close-up scan on Saturday, and she was eager to do another one on Sunday. As she had an umbrella with her, she decided to make it part of the shot. Fredini suggested trying out both open and closed positions to see which would come out looking its best. Now we have three fantastic scans that I've compiled into a single model, showcasing Sophie's excitement and enthusiasm. She was thrilled with the results and chose the title for this project herself. I had considered adding an old-fashioned barometer element with rotating sunny/raining figures, but maybe that'll be saved for another day. While you might not be interested in the model itself, it's definitely worth taking a look to appreciate the exceptional quality of the scans produced by the Great Fredini and Coney Island Scan-A-Rama. I highly recommend checking them out if you get the chance. You can visit The Great Fredini at http://thegreatfredini.com/ for more information. This model stands 150mm high, printed on a Makerbot Replicator 2 using High settings (0.1 15% 2 shells with support) and ColorFabb BronzeFill. Now I just need to finish polishing it up!
