Trinket-Powered Window Candle
thingiverse
This candle is designed around an Adafruit Trinket plugged into its base, which requires running wires up to the flame and installing a single LED, such as an 8mm through-hole Neopixel LED from Adafruit. Only three wires are needed - power, ground, and data in - since it's just one LED. You could also use a flickering or color-changing LED along with a suitable battery; Evil Mad Scientist has a great collection of LEDs designed to mimic candles. Print this candle using your preferred printer settings. I had success printing on an Ultimaker 3, rotating each piece until I found the perfect support configuration. The LED should be hot-glued onto the flame and its leads inserted into three female header extensions before being run through the top slot. Adjusting the height of the flame and securing it with hot glue or putty will yield a more realistic effect.
