In the future, by 2040, avatars may travel virtually with all five senses engaged due to technological advancements in VR navigation. Meanwhile, some may still want physical transportation; thus, an electric Trike 2040 concept has been developed with hydrogen fuel cells and solar panels powering the engine. It features independent suspension using articulated arms for a smoother ride, even on a small-scale model. The front wheels rotate on a spherical seat and cylindrical surface, while rear wheels are close to the differential without need for complex transmissions. An elastic leaf spring absorbs shocks in this design. This innovative Trike concept was created for a MakerBot Replicator 2 challenge, with more models available on GrabCAD by Flaviano Crespi.
