Trike 2040

In 2040, virtual reality technology will allow our avatars to navigate the world while we stay put due to immersive experiences engaging all five senses. However, some may still crave the thrill of actual travel, and for them, an innovative vehicle called Trike 2040 could be a fun option. This electric motorbike is powered by hydrogen fuel cells and supplemented with solar cells for extra energy. The designer has also developed a unique independent suspension system using articulated arms to compensate for shaking and counteract centrifugal force during cornering. The wheels are designed without hubs, with the front ones rotating on a spherical seat and cylindrical surface of an annular support, while the rear axle is supported by a subgroup that adapts to the ground. A leaf spring made from an elastic material absorbs shocks in this innovative design. The designer was able to test and calibrate the spring stiffness using a 3D printer.
