Trigon Slotted Lamp

Trigon Slotted Lamp

I am working on a unique lamp project that combines laser cutting and 3D printed parts to create an eye-catching design. The idea for this lamp started when I experimented with a SCAD script to generate slot patterns in 1/8" wood using my laser cutter. I was impressed by the way the slotted wood allowed slivers of light to pass through, casting intricate shadows on the surrounding area. The lamp comes in two versions: an open-top design and a closed-top version. Both lamps undergo a multi-step finishing process that enhances their appearance. First, they are coated with XTC-3D, which provides a smooth surface for subsequent treatments. Next, I prime them to create a solid base for painting. Then, I apply a metallic paint to give the lamp its distinctive color and finish off the look with several glossy clear coats.
