Trigger-Clamp 3mm Bowden Extruder for Planetary Gearbox BSP
thingiverse
I began by transforming the May 2012 version of an airtripper extruder into something new, and Piit79 soon took over. I then made a few additions to strengthen it, added a BSP mount, and applied thin pads to ensure proper bed adhesion while creating space for a clamp found at irwin.com/tools/clamps/one-handed-micro-bar-clamps. My goal was to build something that would rival the airtripper BSP on my current 1.7mm extruders but customized for use with 3mm filament and incorporating a mount designed specifically for kysan geared stepper planetary gearboxes at airtrippers.com/1764/airtrippers-direct-drive-bowden-extruder-v3-bsp-edition. In typical extruder designs, I have always been wary of using screws to tension the idler due to the hassle involved in making adjustments and opening it up. In response, I eliminated the use of springs/hose/screws that required long m3 fasteners, opting for a quicker solution like an irwin quick-grip trigger clamp instead. This design needed some tweaks so I adapted them slightly to create a more secure fit. While one of these modifications did allow me room to store my allen wrench for the initial setup.
