Trident Bed Fan

Trident Bed Fan

After converting from Afterburner to Stealthburner I ended up with an extra 4020 blower originally used for part cooling and with half the case removed.  I decided to adapt it as a under bed fan to use heat off the bottom of the bed heater to heat the enclosure.  This is an update to the original design. I have more experience designing 3d printed parts, and redesigned the bracket to be more stout and look nicer. Not that you can actually see it. Unfortunately after taking the fan in and out of several prototypes, I broke the wires coming out of the fan and was not able to re-solder them. The photos are of an earlier prototype. I removed the reliefs from the bottom, and added a tab to cover the opening on the back side of the fan from removing the front. The design worked well for me until I broke the fan wire. Not only does this include the other half of the fan case and mounting to the extrusions, it also includes directing the air coming out of the fan towards the bed and spreading it. Theoretically it should be more effective than the designs that just blow air directly out of the fan under the bed.I included a notch to support and guide the wires towards the cable chain.I installed the fan under the bed, and confirmed that it does a good job of circulating the air under the heater by feeling the airflow with my hand.  It generates a pretty steady flow of air, directed across most of the bottom of the bed.  I mounted it away from the thermal fuse to avoid affecting it.It can be printed without supports.  The print is plenty strong since it doesn't have to support much weight. I printed it in ABS with 4 perimeters and 15% infill. To install requires (2) M3x10 SHCS and tee nuts to connect to the extrusions, and (3) M3x20 SHCS to hold the fan into the case.
