Tricopter tail pivot V2
thingiverse
Version two of the tail pivot system with built in landing gear for a Tricopter. Mounts to a 13mm wood boom. Made for and Inspired by the Batbone from Flitetest.com. No longer needs lexan plastic sheet to bolt the motors to. For the front motor mounts see http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:351200 Let me know if you have any suggestions or have a specific motor you want this to be modded for. IMPORTANT: If your motors run too hot the PLA could melt causing a failure, for the first few flights monitor the temperature of the motors. I have about 20+ flights with the extra weight of FPV gear and have had no issues. Instructions PLA, 200 micron 10-35% fill. Fit for the boom is a little loose to allow for booms that are not exactly 13mm, wood can be wrapped with tape to get a snug fit. Made for "NTM Prop Drive Series 28-26A 1200kv / 250w" motor from hobbyking but can be modded for others, let me know if you have a specific motor you want to fit. Other then electronics you will need: ~10 Zip ties 2mm "music wire" used as a pivot shaft. 1mm "music wire" for servo connection. Accessory pack for NTM motors. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14501__NTM_Prop_Drive_35_Series_Accessory_Pack_EU_warehouse_.html Fits up to 13mm wide, 26mm long servos. Such as: BMS-385DMAX Digital Servo (Metal Gear) 4.2kg / .15sec / 16.5g or TGY-375DMG Metal gear Digital Servo w/ Heat Sink 2.3kg / .11sec / 11.5g From hobbyking. Servo is mounted with 2 zip ties Smaller servos may need a small spacer to give it a snug fit between the landing gear. Tail_servo_rod_mount has break away support, remove before attaching servo rod.
