Triceratops prorsus Skeleton
myminifactory
This is a 1:20 scale replica of a Triceratops prorsus skeleton, sourced from Thingiverse user Ravelios. Unfortunately, the original source model remains unknown, but it's likely to have come from either free model site Animium or CadNav. I scaled up the model to roughly 1:20 to match my Makerbot T. Rex and Stegosaurus replicas, which share a contemporary era with Triceratops during the late Cretaceous period. The assembled Triceratops prorsus is estimated to be around 45cm long, based on its known length of 9 meters. Instructions for assembly are included in the files, while further information about Triceratops can be found on Wikipedia. Using Meshmixer, I posed the skeleton into a natural walking stance and curved the tail for a more authentic look. To make it printable, I divided the model into separate pieces and added connecting pins and sockets for a mostly snap-together assembly. Some glue may still be necessary, however. The base was created from scratch.
