Triceratops prorsus Skeleton
pinshape
This is a 1:20 scale replica of a Triceratops prorsus skeleton. The source model was provided courtesy of Thingiverse user Ravelios. The original source of the model remains uncertain, but appears to be either from free model site Animium or CadNav. I scaled the model up to approximately 1:20 to match the Makerbot T-Rex and Stegosaurus models. The Triceratops was a contemporary of these dinosaurs during the late Cretaceous period. The Triceratops prorsus is estimated to have reached 9 meters in length, and so this replica when assembled is ~45cm long. Instructions for assembly are included in the files. Additional information on the Triceratops can be found on Wikipedia. Using Meshmixer, I posed the skeleton into a walk and curved the tail for a more natural look. I divided the model into printable pieces and added connecting pins and sockets for a mostly snap-together assembly. Some glue may still be required, however. The base was created from scratch. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker Original Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm or better Infill: doesn't matter Note: The model in the pictures was printed at full scale of the STL files, at 0.15mm resolution. Supports and brims were used as required.
