As the new Jurassic Park movie hits theaters, I'm excited to share my latest design project - a Triceratops print-in-place model that continues the series of articulated toys I started two months ago. My previous creations, Torbjorn and Shardana characters, were just the beginning, and this new addition is another challenging but rewarding endeavor. To bring the Triceratops to life, I had to divide its dynamic mesh into 11 polygroups, ensuring that each section was precisely crafted with attention to detail. The thickness and gaps between the articulated parts required careful consideration to achieve a seamless transition. One of the standout features of this model is its movable head, which can be rotated freely. The tail also has a degree of flexibility, allowing for a more realistic representation of the dinosaur's natural movements. To make the head detachable from the rest of the model, I designed a sphere with two small flat surfaces on either side, providing an easy release mechanism. The result is a highly detailed and poseable Triceratops print-in-place model that fans of the Jurassic Park series are sure to love.
