Triceratops, the triceratops, is a genus of ceratopsian dinosaurs, which lived at the end of the Cretaceous period, approximately 68 and 66 million years ago, in the Maastrichtiense, in what is now North America. A giant Triceratops horridus head, a dinosaur nearly ten meters long and six tons heavy, is permanently displayed at the old science museum's facilities, which today is CosmoCaixa. The Triceratops head, found on a North Dakota ranch late in the 1990s, now belongs to La Caixa Foundation's collection, and it is considered one of the best Triceratops specimens preserved worldwide. The itinerary presents an evolutionary journey from the emergence of the first dinosaurs some 225 million years ago until their sudden extinction 65 million years ago.
