The triceratops was a mighty dinosaur that roamed Earth's surface during the Late Cretaceous period, which spanned from about 68 to 65 million years ago. It stood tall at around 30 feet long and weighed an estimated 10 tons. Its most distinctive features were the three large horns on its head, one on its nose and two above its eyes, along with a frill that ran around its neck. This powerful dinosaur likely used its massive body to defend itself from predators like Tyrannosaurus Rex, while also using its sharp horns to fend off rival triceratops in mating battles.
