Triathlon GU Gel Bike Mount (customizable)

Contribute: https://github.com/heyharvs/gelholder This is a custom-designed GU Energy gel holder crafted in OpenSCAD and fully adjustable to suit individual needs. By default, it accommodates 5 gels but can be modified to hold up to 12 for ultra-endurance athletes seeking extra support. Observing similar concepts online that were not readily available for purchase, I decided to enhance the design and make it accessible to everyone. Design Highlights: 1) The holder utilizes standard zip ties to attach securely to the front fork for added stability. 2) Slots are specifically designed to fit GU Energy gels precisely. 3) Tapered and angled slots provide sufficient support for the gels. 4) An optional but recommended second zip tie slot is available for extra security. 5) Customizable stem diameters, gel counts, and toggles allow users to personalize their holder with a logo and an additional zip tie slot. Adding GUs: 1) With only the front ziptie installed, rotate the ladder slightly to one side. 2) Fold one side of the GU gel flap and insert it into the top slot first from underneath the holder. 3) Unfold the flap so it's snugly in place on the underside of the holder. 4) After adding all gels, bend them and their flaps towards the back of the bike (see pic). 5) Insert a zip tie at the end of the ladder to add extra security. 6) You're now ready to power through your race like a champion. Update: For convenience, I've included two common configurations: 5 and 10 gels. These settings are suitable for approximately 70.3 or 140.6 Ironman distances. Update 2: I recently completed the 2017 Austin Ironman to test out this design. It performed flawlessly, providing just enough tension to keep all the gels firmly in place. A minor tip: GU packets have sharp edges at their bottom corners, so I recommend clipping or rounding off these edges to avoid hitting your leg while off the saddle.
