Triangle Desk Organizer
thingiverse
This is a phone stand with places to store pencils, headphones, and other small supplies. I made this to give students a place to store their most used tools so that they don't have to waste time digging for their phones or pencils. This stand allows you to charge your phone and have it in an upright position where you can easily see the screen. It is small and simple, so it fits well on your desk. The slots behind your phone remain open on both ends so that it is easy to access when you need to grab a pencil and jot something down. I spent a lot of time figuring out a design that would look nice so that you feel organized and proud to have it on your desk. Even if you have the most random things, it will still be organized, look neat, and for the most part be hidden by your phone. This was my first time using CAD and learning the software proved to be very difficult but once I had an idea for my design, I slowly started to learn new techniques on Onshape and eventually became pretty comfortable with the software. What helped is that I always had a ruler and a protracter next to me so that I could measure and get a visual of what it would be like in real life. If I were to redesign this, I might want to find a way to add a small drawer to add another place for storage. 3D printing this design would be a really cool experience because the only place I have ever seen this design is on my computer.
