Triangle-based Chainmail (NASA-style)
thingiverse
A spin on the classic NASA-style chainmail, reimagined with a triangle-based design. This project is tailored for printing in place using a DLP printer, but the rings are thick enough to be manageable by an FDM as well. The swatch STL is optimized to fill a Photon's 115x65 print bed, but users can tile out individual links to suit their own print bed sizes. Refer to the provided swatches for recommended spacing guidelines. Personally, I find this mail pattern less engaging than others due to its tendency to become entangled. However, when left to flop in a heap, it produces some truly captivating patterns. The design on the back is particularly eye-catching. If you're seeking a more satisfying fidget toy that deviates from the standard NASA mail, consider checking out my pentagon-patterned design available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3453931
