These basic bogies are a way to adapter aged Triang LMS bogie carriages to take modern wheels that will run with less friction on modern 00/HO track The couplings are also less old fashioned to have a better chance of working with semi-modern couplings, but you can omit these and make your own work, or better yet, remix the design and share with others. I offer a non-latching version as on shunting layouts, I like to have the hook on one end only for ease of coupling and uncoupling when the stock is doing fairly simple end-to-end movements If you're fortunate to have one of these crude Triang coaches that hasn't turned into a banana, this may just be enough to make it a serviceable addition to your layout and give you something you're not too worried about the kids or grandkids getting near. The short wheelbase of the bogies never gave these especially good running characteristics so don't expect miracles naturally. To use, ensure the old bogie has been removed and glue the new subframe to the underside of the chassis. The two halves of the chassis are designed to be glued together, make sure you fit your modern wheels first! I use Dapol steel wheels but imagine others using the same pin bearing ending would work just as well. The coupling is loop is fixed with small electronic-device style self-tappers ('laptop' screws) as is the latch itself to the loop, and once the bogie is located onto the subframe, a bearer is add with a longer screw to fix the free moving bogie in place. Don't expect perfection but consider it a starting point
