I'm positive no other homebrewer has ever faced this problem: My fermenter is rigged with tri-clover style sanitary flanges. My gas system relies on corny keg ball lock connectors - standard equipment in modern homebrew setups. I want to push my beer out of the fermenter and into a corny keg using gas pressure, but that requires an adapter, which surprisingly doesn't exist yet. Fortunately, I've got 3d printers at my disposal (I've actually got several). This custom-made connector has the right thread to attach a corny keg ball lock gas post, even though threads aren't standardized across manufacturers, so there are no guarantees. Note that in this setup, the fitting will only handle 2-3psi of gas pressure - just enough to push the beer through. If more pressure was used, the lid seal on the fermenter would likely burst and cause serious damage or injury. We discussed this exact scenario and a lot more on the 3D Printing Today podcast available on iTunes or Stitcher radio, learn more at www.threedprintingtoday.com. Print Settings: Printer: FlashForge Creator Rafts: None Supports: None Resolution: 0.1mm layers Infill: 100% Notes: I found that printing with 0.1mm layers helped clean up the threads nicely. I chose TPU to make it sturdy and recommend a minimum of four shells and 100% infill, as this piece needs to be watertight, not just water-tight but also gas tight as well.
