Trey SD Card Holder
thingiverse
There are plenty of people who have created SD memory card holders, but this is yet another unique design to add to the collection. A bit different from the standard holder, I decided to incorporate some artistic elements into the basic design. There's a simple plain version that's extremely compact in file size. Version two (V2) is quite large because it features intricate relief carving with a lot of detail. Don't expect any low-poly effects here - so the fancy design may not be for everyone. Version three has been reduced by 70% but might still have some minor artifacts, which I haven't printed yet. The non-graphic version can be printed at any layer height you prefer. I used a 10% infill and wood PLA to keep it lightweight and fast printing, with a layer height of 0.20MM. To print the fancy versions requires a bit more effort. I experimented with two different layer heights but one could work just as well. I chose 0.20MM for the base up to the tower section and switched to 0.10MM for the intricate details in the high relief carving on the tower. Alternatively, you can print the entire thing at a single height - experiment to see what your printer can handle.
