This majestic fluted bowl rests on two robust griffin's legs and a sturdy central column that rises majestically from an ornate floral ball. Beneath it lies an oval platform supported by six hefty blocks adorned with grotesque yet fascinating heads. The piece is a masterpiece of assembly, brought together from various disparate ancient fragments and modern additions crafted in the workshop of Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-78), earning it a secondary name as the Piranesi vase. Another sculpture of similar design can be found on MyMiniFactory and Scan The World under the title Pirenesi Vase. According to Piranesi, this magnificent object originates from the villa of Roman Emperor Hadrian at Tivoli. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", a pioneering non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe. Scan the World is an open-source community effort where anyone can contribute their own interesting items.
