TrendNet Camera - Tripod mount
thingiverse
We bought a Trendnet webcam to keep tabs on our 3D prints, but we soon realized that using it with a tripod wouldn't be feasible due to its design. Fortunately, 3D printing came to the rescue! I created a custom mount interface between the TrendNet camera and a tripod. One of the coolest things about the TrendNet webcam is that you can access it from anywhere over the Internet and control it remotely, getting live feed of anything in the room at will. The only hitch was finding screws with the right length and threads to match the mount. To fix this, I glued a nut into the interface that matched the tripod screw threads and used Clearfield epoxy to secure it in place, taking care not to contaminate the threads. It worked beautifully! Not only does it let us monitor our prints, but we can now position the camera to track the filament spool, giving us an accurate estimate of how long the spool will last.
