Trench Emptying / Bailing Scoop (Customizable)
thingiverse
After using a trencher (such as a Ditch Witch) to dig a trench through soil, some dirt will inevitably fall back into the trench. This customizable scoop, is meant to be attached to a wooden handle, and may be used to scoop out loose dirt from the trench, like a little backhoe. Also good for scooping water/mud. Scoop size, shape, wall thickness, and pole size parameters are all customizable using my included OpenSCAD file. The original STL version is for a 1" diameter pole and no tilt. Updated version V2 is for a 24mm pole, has a 10-degree tilt, and opens up space below pole region for more dirt; I used an M5-40 screw to attach it to the pole (I drilled a hole through the pole). NOTE: - Not for actually digging the trench (well unless you're on a sand dune). - Not for use with sticky clay which would get stuck in the scoop (but probably wouldn't have fallen back into the trench anyways).
