Trench 2 (First layer of archaeology)
sketchfab
Excavation Trench 2, measuring 2.00 meters in width and length, was carefully initiated just a few meters south of Excavation Trench 1. This strategic placement allowed researchers to examine two massive stone blocks that precisely matched the dimensions of Illyrian masonry techniques, sparking curiosity about their potential role as the top section of an ancient wall concealed beneath the earth. Located beneath the initial layer of topsoil, this excavation represents a pivotal moment in uncovering distinct soil profiles from various periods of burial. As seen on other layers, this is merely one step within a comprehensive process aimed at unraveling the mysteries of the site's rich history. Please note that this low-resolution representation serves as an illustration of the project's ongoing archaeological research efforts.
