tremolo width ruler
thingiverse
This tool helps guitar players specify the amount by which the tremolo unit of a Fender Stratocaster floats. The thickness of the thin piece is 3/16 inch, as specified in the Fender instruction manual. This measurement equates to approximately 4.8 mm. When tuning your guitar, insert this part between the body and the synchronized tremolo unit inertia block. Use it as a reference point to determine the standard floating amount of your tremolo. Adjust the position of the tremolo spring hanger by tightening the screws or reduce the number of springs. Balance with correctly tensioned string tension to achieve optimal results. If the tension of the string and the tremolo spring become equal, pressure on this part will be zero, allowing it to be removed naturally. Other sizes for this piece are based on inch notation. The thick part may correspond to a recent thin inertia block.
