Inspired by www.trail-pix.com, but a cost-effective alternative. If you're heading outdoors with three or more trekking poles and need a tripod, take this affordable option! Simply attach your preferred ball mount (I designed it for the Joby ballhead X) along with a 1/2-inch long 1/4-20 hex bolt and three sturdy trekking poles. This versatile creation is surprisingly lightweight, weighing about 50 grams printed in PLA at 20% infill, significantly lighter than most traditional tripods. Let me know if you have any questions or comments! Instructions I used my rigidbot with an e3d v6 hot end and simplify 3D to print this design in high-quality PLA material with 20% infill and no supports. To assemble, simply insert the bolt, attach your ballhead (you may need a 1/4-20 to 3/8-16 adapter), and slide three trekking pole tips into the tapered openings. Perfect for capturing astrophotography images from remote wilderness areas!
