Trefoil Menagerie
thingiverse
The sequence of trefoil knot conformations starts with a cubic lattice trefoil and ends at a five-pointed star-shaped one. Other forms include (3,2) torus knot trefoil, tritangentless trefoil, Fourier-(1,1,2) trefoil, minimum rope length trefoil, minimum stick number trefoil, (2,3) torus knot trefoil, and petal knot trefoil. Credit goes to kitwallace for developing code that generates STL files for these shapes. For more details on the math and OpenSCAD behind these knots and slicing profiles, check out MakerHome's posts: Day 150 - Trefoil torus knots, Day 151 - Fourier and tritangentless trefoil knots, Day 152 - Petal and tight trefoil knots, and Day 153 - Stick and lattice trefoil knots.
