Tree to go with Thing1 (thing 2958) using ANSYS (tm)

A simple tree design accompanies the Thing1 family, which was printed from thing: 2958 by Zomboe. This project also serves as a test for an ANSYS CLASSIC (tm) to .stl converter macro I created using ANSYS classic structural analysis software. The coarse faceting observed results from utilizing the limited educational version of ANSYS available at home; the standard ANSYS edition would enable finer faceting. Included are the last three images depicting the geometry, coarse faceting, and improved faceting on the trunk (tree2.stl). Additionally, an updated ansys_2_stl.mac macro for ANSYS conversion is available in thing:4421, along with attached file ansys_2_stl_100516a.mac. Instructions are integrated into the macro's comments; note that element normals must direct outward from the object.
With this file you will be able to print Tree to go with Thing1 (thing 2958) using ANSYS (tm) with your 3D printer.
