Magdalena Abakanowicz brings her vision to life in bronze on the esplanade of Biarritz's Grande Plage garden. This colossal sculpture stands at 4.50 meters tall, weighing a substantial 1.20 tons. As it faces the sea, its beauty is unveiled, shaped by hand with precision and care. On February 12th, 2000, Didier Borota, then mayor of Biarritz, officially inaugurated this masterpiece. Abakanowicz draws inspiration from everyday life: "I recall a day when protesters stretched out their hands to make a point; branches of metaphorical trees, eerily reminiscent of human hands."
